WINDOW SHUTTERS
Shutters
are the ultimate in elegance and style for covering your windows—like a fine piece of furniture. Shutters are available in a number of different shapes, louver sizes, materials, stains, paints, and finishes. Plantation shutters louver sizes are 1 ⅞, 2 ½, 3, 3 ½ & 4 ½ inches. The larger the louver, the better your view through is, but the more depth is need at the window—our most popular sizes are 2 ½ inches and 3 ½ inches.
There are three basic materials used for making shutters: hardwood, faux wood, and polymer (plastic). We have hardwood shutters made with teak, basswood, and paulownia (phoenix wood). Some faux wood shutters are made with all synthetic materials and some are made with a composite of real wood products combined with manmade synthetic materials. Polymer shutters are made from high impact plastic and are very lightweight. Faux wood and polymer shutters are ideal for high moisture areas.
Shutters are a great solution for tricky windows. There are shutters specifically designed for French doors, sliding doors, narrow sidelight windows in entryways, angled windows, circles, and arches.
There is a multitude of paint and stain colors to choose from—many more choices with real wood versus the faux wood. If there isn’t a stock color that works, we can even do a custom color paint or stain, so you get an exact match to your trim.
